Every day our team at Decisyon discovers great articles and resources regarding how people around the globe are changing businesses and lives by harnessing the power of the Internet of Things (IoT).
This week we’re focused on the international impact of IoT. In "How China is Scaling the Internet of Things," the new GSMA report profiles China’s leadership in the worldwide machine-to-machine (M2M) market.
The IoT is impacting India as well. Digitizing India’s “How the Internet of Everything is changing the world” comments, “The possibilities of IoT making the world a better place are infinite. All it needs are open minds and a spirit of co-operation between people.” Digitizing India also has an IoT section with regular postings. A useful resource for international IoE perspectives.
This week Business Reporter’s “The coming of age for the Internet of Things,” interviews Sir Nigel Shadbolt, chairman of the Open Data Institute (ODI), and Gavin Starks, its CEO. (London-based ODI was founded by Shadbolt and Tim Berners-Lee). Great perspectives from two of the original digital pioneers.
Finally, a report addressing a critical issue impacting global agriculture appeared in Computer Weekly. “The internet of things could save the honeybee from extinction,”is a real-world case study of how Gemalto’s M2M unit is developing an ambitious project with agricultural science firm Eltopia and the University of Minnesota.
